The Dream Travel Experience: Not Just for One, But for Everyone!

I know a lot of people who would like to travel to different destinations around the world. It is anticipated that with different people come different interests. For example there are those who want to travel to go sightseeing and widen their circle of friends, and there are others who do so simply because they want to explore different mouth-watering cuisines on different settings. However, there always seems to be a concern. One would love to have the privilege of pursuing this interest at a very convenient price, yet they may not have ideas in mind.

Well, let me give you some options that you may find interesting - destinations that will give you a journey that you and your folks would never forget. Let me start with the Disney Cruise Line. This would give you the chance to enjoy a delightful dining experience in any of the ship's grand restaurants such as Remy and Palo if you are into adult exclusive dining, Pinocchio's Pizzeria if you love eating pizza, and Beach Blanket Buffet for those who want to munch on hamburgers, wraps, and grilled chicken and a whole lot more.

If you are looking for another option, say you want to avail of beverage packages, you may want to consider a Royal Caribbean Cruise. You can take advantage of the wine packages where you can save up to twenty five per cent off on multi-bottle Diamond, Platinum, or Gold Wine Package. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, you may consider juice packages where you can have up to twenty five per cent discount on Minute Maid bottled juice packages. For soda lovers, you can have unlimited refills on a particular branded fountain product in venues such as the Windjammer Café and the Main Dining Room. You won't regret availing of this package since this includes getting a souvenir cup worth keeping!

What about if we give you another excellent suggestion, say the Princess Cruises? Here you have quite a handful of choices like ultimate balcony dining if you want to be surrounded by spectacular views while taking pleasure in a romantic meal, casual dining options if you like sipping an afternoon tea with cookies, pastries, and white-glove service, or you may consider poolside options if you want to take pleasure in eating cooked-to-order hamburgers, hot dog from the grill, or hand-tossed pizza.

Now that you have information on choices that are available and convenient, you may now want to search for and gather helpful information regarding a wide selection of travel agencies, and talk with one that would provide you with not just one, two or three options but can also offer you a wide variety of dining options to choose from. Once you have finalized your travel plans, you may now be on your way to having a fine drink and dine experience. So who says traveling is very expensive? Travel nowadays need not be a burden but instead of a memorable and awe-inspiring experience. Lush travelling can now be accessible to all!

Setting Up Your Own Aquaponics System

Aquaponics is a symbiotic, integrated farming system that involves raising fish in tanks and using their nutrient rich water to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants. Once it is set up and cycled (creating sufficient amount of bacteria to produce enough nitrates for the plants and keep ammonia levels down for the fish), a small or home based system should only take a few minutes a day to care for the fish. If the fish are happy, the plants will require little to no care; and if your system is properly set up, the plants will take care of cleaning the water, so you won't spend your time cleaning the fish tank.

Aquaponics is one of the best and easiest ways to produce fresh, natural and healthy fruit and vegetables for the whole family without the pesticides of mass production, the high prices of store bought organics or the chemicals and non-renewable minerals required to feed a purely hydroponic system. You can choose to raise the fish as a hobby or harvest them for food, either way you are getting two direct benefits: fish and produce. Additional advantages include pride and self-confidence that comes from building something on your own and an opportunity to involve the whole family in a productive healthy activity.

How do Aquaponics Work?

A basic system is composed of: a fish tank, a unit to remove solids, a hydroponics subsystem to grow the plants and a sump to receive the water once it has gone through the system. From there the water is pumped bank into the fish tank and the cycle begins all over again. A bio-filter mechanism is necessary to convert ammonia to nitrates, most systems do not require a separate filter because they are the filter (ammonia attracts airborne nitrosomonas bacteria that convert it to nitrites, the nitrites then require some media or filtration system, depending on your system, to flow through where the nitrite to nitrate converting bacteria can grow and do their job).

Your main task will be to keep the fish environment healthy with proper PH balance, light, and temperature. On a home system this should only require a few minutes so of your time every day to check conditions, makes whatever adjustments might be necessary and feed the fish.

Space: How Much Space is Required for an Aquaponics System?

One of the great things about aquaponics is that it is a scalable system. A home-based system can be almost any size: a small indoor fish tank/aquarium set up to feed a few plants, a corner of the yard, the whole yard. You can build a decorative aquarium style system in your house; you can use your garage. You can also decide to go big for your extended family, or even bigger for commercial purposes. You can make your decision based on the outcome you desire such as production volume or space availability. You can decide to grow it incrementally: start small until you get the hang of it and then grow it to any size. Really it is all up to you.

If you only have room for a small footprint but you need more volume you can build a vertical system. Vertical columns above the fish tank house the plants. A vertical unit that takes up 1m X 2m (3 feet by 6 feet), for example, is twice as efficient as a hydroponic system of the same size. You can get 200 heads of lettuce in one year out of a single five foot column and it is much more water efficient than traditional farming with soil.

Location: Where Should You Put Your Aquaponics System?

Make sure the space you are contemplating is suitable. It can be and interior or exterior location such as your yard, your garage, or even your living room for smaller systems. The following is a list of basic considerations that should go into selecting a space:

Keep it simple: make sure the floor or ground is level. Decide how you are going to get electricity to power the pumps. Be safe, avoid long extension cords and complicated setups: make sure you have or can easily install an outlet nearby. Consider whether the design you choose will require a cover a cover of some kind ( it depends on the system you decide to go with). Although it si not all that loud, there will always be some noise coming from the system ( pump, running water) and since it should run day and night, you will probably want to avoid locating it too close to your bedroom or anywhere else where you need absolute quiet. Will you be able to maintain proper conditions for the fish and plants? (temperature and light for example)

The System: Which One Do You Choose?

You will need to decide what aquaponics model you want to adopt. There are many designs but three main models to choose from. (within those there are a number of design options):

MEDIA BASED (ie gravel, clay pebbles etc.): This is the most popular model for home based systems. There are different types of media based systems that you may want to consider: Continuous flow (uses expanded clay pebbles) this is a simple set up and it works, Basically the water trickles down after having been pumped up to the media bed, there are some disadvantages that make some people prefer other methods such as Simple Flood and Drain. Flood and Drain (uses gravel), can be set up as an Ebb and Flow system or Simple Flood and Drain, which may be the simplest and easiest system to set up and is effective, you just need to ensure that fish tank levels don't drop too much when the water is flooding the beds. Other methods include CHIFT PIST (Constant Height in Fish Tank, Pump In Sump Tank and Sump Tank Two Pump. DEEPFLOW / RAFT - more commonly found in commercial systems. The medium in this case is water (30 to 40 cm /12"-16" deep) in long channels. Plants in net pots are floated on rafts made from Styrofoam, plastics or other floating material. Their roots are always in water. NUTRIENT FILM TECHNIQUE [NFT]: Can be used both commercially and at home but is the least common in either case. These systems require mechanical filtration and higher maintenance than any other. It is similar to Deepflow but instead of being immersed in water the roots receive nourishment from a rivulet of water as it runs through the channel.

Finally, you will also need to decide what fish to raise (for food or as pets, you will also need to consider legalities for some species, climatic conditions etc.) and what plants to grow (many choices here). Space, method, system design, prep, fish, plants, prep... this probably all sounds really overwhelming and complicated but it is not; just take it one step at a time. You can build a system and have it running within a short time producing food for you and your family.

There are a number of ways to achieve this. You can hire someone to build it for you, which can be costly and defeats the purpose of doing something from scratch yourself. You will also be less self-sufficient when it comes to maintenance. You can opt for a pre-fab kit, an intermediate solution that is more costly than doing it yourself but probably less costly than a custom design and installation. Aside from cost, the problem you run into here is that your choices will be more limited; you will be stuck with whatever the kit gives you. Finally, the least expensive, most flexible and most self-sufficient option is to do it all yourself, which, believe it or not, is simple enough. As long as you have a good set of comprehensive, easy to follow instructions, you will soon be eating fresh, healthy natural produce from your very own aquaponics garden!

Leverage the Power of Your Articles Marketing

How exactly an article helps to drive traffic towards your website? Well, we can see it from different point of views: search engine optimization, video marketing, blogging and eBook.

If you use search engine optimization, it recommends having keywords in your contents. When you are writing an article, your headline should contain keyword about your content. And of course in the content, there will have some repeating keywords. This will enhance the visibility of your website in search engine.

What about video marketing? When the content of the article is about "how to... " you can produce a video with the same content and post it onto video directories. Then it will greatly attract traffic to your website.

In my opinion, what you are posting on blog is an article too. You are providing information about a product. Visitors are reading the blog post to retrieve information from it. Why don't you write an article with the same content and repost it on article directories? Then you can have more readers to access to your blog and increase your internet sales.

When you have a lot of quality articles in your library, you can consider taking some of the articles and combine it into an eBook. There are few options you can pick: sell the eBook and earn some bucks; use the eBook as a free gift and drive more subscribers into your subscriber list for further marketing (email marketing) or sell the eBook as a byproduct with your main product. Of course you have to make sure the eBook that you write is related to what you are selling.

From what I have stated above, you proceed to many other marketing alternatives after writing an article. Therefore, make article writing a habit. Submit an article per day to article directories. Produce a video based on the article you wrote. Combine related quality contents to produce an eBook. Paraphrase your article and post it onto your blog.

Here are some guidelines for you to follow when writing an article. Keep your language simple and clear. By applying this, readers can easily retrieve the information. Keep the length of article around 300-400 words. However, some article directories required new writer to have at least 400 words. Try your best to fulfill the requirement. After all you are submitting to the article directory for free.

Practice more on writing skill will definitely help to drive traffic to your website by following the steps that I have mentioned.

Improving Your Cyber Security - A Beginner's Guide

A recent Eurobarometer poll revealed some relatively alarming statistics. Firstly, that around 10% of all European internet users had experienced online fraud and/or identity theft in some form, and that 74% of those quizzed believed cyber-crime to be an 'increasing risk'. Secondly, that only just over 50% had some form of anti-virus software installed on their computers, and that 57% would open emails from addresses they did not recognize.

McAffe, in a separate study, has recently published a list of what it considers to be the foremost online threats in the coming year. Amongst the risks, it mentions employees of companies being targeted as 'doorways' past security and more advanced viruses designed to steal banking information. This, coupled with the findings of the Eurbarometer poll, presents a worrying risk to European citizens. If those quizzed were aware of the inherent risks posed by the internet, and yet did not take moves to protect themselves, then there are only a small number of possible reasons why. Firstly, that they did not feel threatened by cyber-crime, however, given the 10% that had been victims of said crimes, it is unlikely that this is a universal principle. The second possibility is that there is a widespread lack of awareness when it comes to protection. The study found that even the most basic of security protocols were being ignored, so we shall therefore examine some security tips for the beginner.

Antivirus software - While your operating system of choice may have built-in software for dealing with certain threats, without a full, dedicated antivirus program installed, it can be hard to get frequently-updated protection against the ever-changing world of viruses. Many such programs can be bought cheaply, and charge an annual fee, but if you cannot afford them, then there are plenty of reliable providers with a free version of their product. Any protection is better than no protection.

Common sense - As a general rule-of-thumb, do not open emails that you either were not expecting, or that are from addresses that you do not recognise. However, be cautious using email, regardless of source. Some viruses are able to access your friends' email accounts, and use them to forward virus-riddled spam messages to everyone in that address' directory. If you receive a message out-of-the-blue from a friend, perhaps just quickly check that it is a genuine one.

Caution in security - Many websites and online services require users to register an account and provide a password, which is a good thing: they are being protective of your details (and whatever else you keep there). However be cautious about having one 'universal' password. If a hacker were to get hold of it, then they would have access to everything, and could even use it to change your details, and lock you out of your accounts. Repairing such damage would be very time-consuming.

Be wary of 'Cloud Storage' - Cloud Storage is a form of data-storage conducted solely online. It offers users either free or cheap use of its servers, and many people use it to 'file' documents and the like. It is an innovative and useful service. However, be wary of storing anything containing personal or confidential information in 'The Cloud', as it has gained a reputation for not being totally secure.

List Building Tips - Referrals

In this third installment of my series on list building, I want to discuss referrals. Admittedly, this is not something I do a lot of and shame on me for it because when I actually DO it, it works. Why does it work and why should YOU consider it for your list building efforts? Keep reading and you'll find out.

Let's start with the premise of our list in the first place. Why are we building it? Well, there could be several reasons actually. But one of the most common is to get a whole bunch of people in one virtual place so that you can send them your message all at once in the hope that MAYBE they'll take some kind of action on that message itself, whether it be checking out an article, watching a video or buying a product. Unless you just like sending out emails for no reason, I'm going to assume that your list has a purpose similar to that in mind.

Now, given the purpose of your list, the one thing you'd like to have above all else is a subscriber who DOES take action. In other words, they read your message and do what you want them to do. And the reason they do it (and this is the key) is because they trust you and trust what you have to say. Somewhere along the line, you've earned that trust through the content that you've sent to them. The bottom line, however, is that you HAVE that trust.

So, let me ask you a question. If you were write to somebody you know who ALREADY trusts you and gets value out of being on your list, and asked them to refer your newsletter to others with similar interests, don't you think that they would gladly tell those in their immediate circle that your newsletter is probably something that they would want to read?

If your skeptical about this, let's take an example from real life that maybe you can relate to a little better.

Your at a bar with your best friend. He's just seen the latest, oh let's say, Batman movie and he says to you, "Man, I just saw that new Batman movie. It was FANTASTIC. You have GOT to see it."

Now think about this. He's your best friend. You value his opinion probably more than anybody else on the subject of movies because throughout your lives together you've always seemed to have the same taste. Don't you think you're going to go see that movie the first chance you get? Conversely, if he said it was horrible, you'd probably skip it.

Referrals are powerful coming from a third party with no divested interest. Of course we could throw a monkey wrench into the works to completely change this (offer a free e-course in exchange for that referral) but let's keep this simple for now. Just ask people who already trust you to recommend your newsletter to others.

If each person on your list who already trusts you and responds to your offer (let's say it's 100 people) gets just ONE person to sign up, that's 100 more people who are likely to end up trusting you as well if for no other reason than the referral that came from somebody who they ALREADY trust.

It's such an underused tactic. I myself don't use it as much as I should. But trust me, when you do use it and use it correctly (and adding incentives just makes it explode) it can really turn your list into a monster.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Is It Time to Change Your Home Address?

By nature, people move from one place to another in search of a greener pasture. But how do you know that the time is right to pack your bags and face the challenge of a new environment? If you answer yes to all or any of these questions, then it's probably time to contact your local real estate agent and consider a change of home address.

Are you coupling up or getting married? Nowadays, once you find a significant other, moving in together will be a very likely option. Just like that, when you get married, one or both of you are also required to move. It might be you moving to the other's place or vice versa. Most couples opt to start their married lives together in a new place.

Did your office relocate? One of the most common reasons for moving is due to the dictates of work. If your current office relocates 200 miles away, then the easiest option is to move to a home near your new office... that is, if you still plan on keeping your job.

Are you planning to take a new career? You're newly hired and you love your new job. Problem is, the job forces you to commute for over two hours a day. If that's the case, ditch commuting; give yourself a break and move to the location of your new job.

Do you think your neighborhood has changed? Neighborhoods can change for the worse, physically, socially, or economically over time. If you feel your neighbors have gotten horrendously noisy, or the crime rate has increased, it's better to change your home address and move to a new community that suits your needs.

Do you need more space? If you plan to have kids, invite your parents to stay, get a pet, then you should definitely consider moving to a more comfortable place. If you feel you have outgrown your "starter home," choosing a larger, more spacious preferably pet-friendly community may suit you just right.

Are you having health problems? People with physical ailments such as knee or back problems may find it difficult living in a two-storey house and decide to move to a one-storey home. Those who have respiratory problems also prefer to move to a community far from factory smoke, etc.

Do you want an upgrade? Most people's starter homes are small because that's what they can afford at the moment. If you save up money and afford to get a larger and better home, then transfer residence! After all, who wouldn't want to move to a more luxurious home?

Have the kids flown the coop? If your children have left for college, or have grown up and moved out, there is no need to live in a large house. Aside from having a hard time keeping a big house clean, large houses feel empty with only a few people living in them.

Are you changing your lifestyle? If you decide to change your lifestyle, say, become a rancher instead of a sales agent, then you should leave your house in the city and get one in the rural area. If you want to quench your thirst for travel, then you can opt for a small condo unit that you won't worry leaving.

Are you retiring? As people enter their golden years, they may not need space for their children anymore, and a change of home address is in order. While some seniors prefer to move to a warm, peaceful place, some others want to explore their new found freedom and move nearer a sports center.

Unitary Patent System

Until now, the long awaited Unitary Patent System, along with the proposed centralised European patent litigation system seemed like something of a distant reality. However, a number of recent developments have seen the System take one step closer to being brought into effect, and it is hoped that the first unitary patent will be registered in 2014.

The Unitary Patent System and the European Unitary (EU) Patent:

Part of the proposed system is the introduction of the European unitary (EU) patent. The proposed EU patent is closely related to, but different from the European patent, which is granted under the European Patent Convention. European patents, once granted, become a bundle of nationally enforceable patents, in the states designated by the applicant.

At present, European patents (once granted) require validating in each EPO member state for which the patent proprietor seeks patent protection. Validation requires payment of the associated fees, and can require a full translation of the patent specification into the national, official language. Accordingly, validation can be costly, coupled with the need to appoint a national representative to act on applicant's behalf. Further costs arise annually with renewal fees being payable in each member state in which the patent is validated.

It is proposed that the new EU patent will, once granted and at the proprietor's request, become a European patent having unitary effect. The application and examination procedure will be identical to that of European patents, until such time that the patent is granted. However, it will be during the post-grant phase that the process will differ, with the proprietor being presented with the opportunity to opt for a European unitary patent with unitary protection (in all member states participating in the system), instead of the usual European patent with individual territorial protection. The new process would also provide for the patent proprietor to combine both schemes, i.e. to request a European patent in a selection of member states party to the European Patent Convention and not of the unitary patent system (at the time of writing, of the 27 EU countries, only Italy and Spain are not party to the unitary patent system), and a unitary patent in those states party to the unitary patent system, thus providing the proprietor with much flexibility.

The EU patent, if introduced, will provide proprietors with the benefit of a simplified validation procedure, as well as fewer translation and renewal requirements. It is further hoped that the new system will help in making patent protection more accessible, particularly to SMEs, and in making Europe more attractive to inventors, both those within Europe and across the world. The EU patent is awaited with much anticipation, as it has been since it was first discussed way back in the 1970s...

The Centralised European Patent Litigation System (Unitary Patents Court):

A second aspect of the proposed system is the introduction of a centralised European patent litigation system. The centralised system is intended to provide a mechanism by which patent proprietors will have greater legal certainty, particularly in relation to infringement and revocation proceedings concerning European patents (and the new European unitary patent). It is also hoped that a centralised system will significantly reduce patent litigation costs, eliminating the need to conduct litigation in each member state of interest (and under the current system, where the patent has been validated). And yet given the major advantages such a system would bring, it is the introduction of the centralised European patent litigation system that has stalled the introduction of the unitary patent system as a whole.

The reasons for the delay are numerous, not least due to a decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) that the introduction of the European Unified Patent Court (a substantial part of the proposed system) would be incompatible with the European Union.

The proposed Regulation on the creation of the unitary patent system may change as a result of this judgement, with the European Council (which represents the governments of the Member States of the European Union) suggesting a number of alterations in a recent statement, published on the 29 June 2012. The European Council recommended the deletion of three provisions, Articles 6 to 8 of the Regulation, which define the acts which constitute infringement of a unitary patent. Deletion of these Articles is thought to remove the possibility of the Unified Patent Court making referrals on substantive patent law to the CJEU. If these recommendations are adopted, the result will likely be that the CJEU will have no jurisdiction in UPC cases. Whether the CJEU adopts this is yet to be seen.

The plans were further stalled on the issue of the location of a central divisional court. However a recent development appears to suggest that progress in respect of the introduction of a Unified Patent Court is gradually taking place. In its statement of 29 June 2012, the European Council also reported that the Unified Patent Court is to be headquartered in Paris. It further reported that the central court will be supported by two specialist courts residing in London (for pharmaceutical related cases) and Munich (for mechanical engineering cases). It has been suggested that the Unified Patent Court, if introduced, will have the jurisdiction to hear issues relating to European Patents granted under the European Patent Convention and also those patents granted under the new unitary right.

The final decision now rests with the European Parliament, which in combination with the European Council forms part of the two-part legislative framework of the European Union. This too has been delayed, largely due to the recent announcement of the European Council, as set out above.

The European Parliament was due to vote on the unitary system on the 4 July 2012, however, the vote was postponed while the European Parliament decides whether the CJEU can be excluded from the unitary system. It is not yet known when the European Parliament will vote on the introduction of the system. Until then, the launch of a unitary patent system hangs in the balance pending the approval of the European Parliament.

Backlink Building Service: Link Building Strategies for Foreign Sites

Approximately 50 to 80 percent of online content is in English. Building links for English-based sites is a challenging task. What about international websites and blogs? Search engines operate locally and internationally. A search query in Google will give different results for the same keyword in Google.nl, Google.es, and Google.co.uk. If you want to set up a foreign site and build quality links, you need to learn a few things about SEO and find the best link building strategy for your online business.

It is important to understand that no matter what niche you are in, if you don't have a link building campaign for your website, your content will not be found by your target audience. Quality is a key factor in off-page optimization in foreign marketers. The central component of a successful link building campaign is your website and its content. Start by identifying your audience and then optimize your website so that it can provide value to your prospects. Studies indicate that building links to foreign sites delivers results much more quickly than link building for English sites.

First of all, you should submit your website to local directories. Each country has its own web directories. You may also contact local business partners and offer your products or services in exchange for a listing. Analyze your competitors and see where they are getting links from. Keep in mind that not all links are created equal. Add your site only to the most relevant directories.

Join business organizations in your country. Some of them may offer free advertising space, while others may have member directories where you can submit your site. Write articles and press releases related to your niche. Send them to newspapers, online magazines, and article directories. Include a link to your website in the resource box. Article submission and press release distribution are powerful marketing tools that can generate huge traffic to your site and help you get relevant backlinks.

Add fresh content on your website and include the right keywords. Use research papers, diagrams, and infographics for developing interest amongst locally-based online communities. Hiring a local link building team is a viable option. Encourage your customers to leave feedback and testimonials on social media sites, forums, and third-party review sites. You may also join local forums, provide useful information, and spread the word about your website. Building links for foreign sites is not very different from getting links to an English website - you just have to think globally and act locally.

Solar Water Heaters - Save Money and the Environment

With the every growing cost of energy and the alarming issue of global warming, solar heating has become a great way to save money and also save the environment. Unlike solar photovoltaic which converts the sun's energy to electricity, Solar water Heaters use the heat radiation of the sun directly. This means there is very little loss. As an example, a solar heating system can be 97% efficient versus a PV cell which is typically 8-14% efficient.

How does it Work?

A Solar heater uses a special coating that absorbs the sun's radiation. This is very similar to how a black car heats up in the sun. The absorbed heat energy is then transferred to a heating medium such as water or glycol. Glycol is normally used when the home owner experiences freezing conditions. The heated liquid is then moved via as small energy-efficient pump to where it is needed. The heat is then transferred to the home or hot water via a heat exchanger.

The most common use of solar water heaters is to heat domestic hot water. A typical solar heating system comprises 5 key elements.

Solar collectors - capture the suns energy Piping - holds the heating medium that is heated in the solar collectors (usually copper or stainless steel) Pump - that moves the solar heating fluid from the collector through the piping to where it is needed Solar Tank with an internal heat exchanger- this is where the heating fluid transfers its energy to the domestic hot water through the internal heat exchanger inside the tank Solar controller - this calculates when the heating fluid is hotter than the water in the solar tank. If it is then it activates the pump so that the heating fluid can circulate through the heat exchanger in the tank

Solar Water Heaters can typically provide home owners 60-70% saving on their water heating bill. With the Federal Energy Tax credits being applied, a typical solar water heater cost about $3000-$4000 and can have paybacks in less than 5 years in some states. This makes them very popular for home owners. In fact in some states such as Hawaii and European countries, new home construction must have a solar water heater as part of the build.

As energy cost are sure to continue to rise and energy management solutions' continue to gain in popularity, so will solar water heating. Next time you see a black looking solar collector on a neighbour's roof, thank them for helping save our planet!

Keeping Personal Information Safe From Identity Fraud

Due to the increased number of incidents involving identity theft in the last ten years, new tactics are being employed to counter this for both business and residential paper shredding is fast becoming the best way to help keep personal information away from people who may wish to act fraudulently. Shredding, also known as document destruction, helps to keep personal details safe because it quickly tears up paper that may have your address or credit card details on and makes it impossible for anyone to be able to reattach the different pieces and copy down your details. Many families now have a shredder in their home office that is in place to deal with documents containing sensitive information and it is also commonplace to see them in offices.

Shredders come in a range of different sizes and styles and it is possible to pick up a small version quite cheaply that will be more than adequate to deal with your shredding needs at home.It is not just bank statements that people are disposing of either; identity thieves also look for other items containing personal details that you may not have thought of. Simply by looking through the average person's waste paper you are able to find multiple ways in which your identity can be compromised. Identity thieves are on the lookout for anything containing your date of birth and credit or debit card information. Even if you are careful to dispose of bank statements it is still possible to get this information from other sources including monthly statements where you pay by direct debit and this may be all that they need in order to start applying for credit in your name and adversely affecting your credit score. Don't let this happen to you. Act before it is too late.

Increase Your Safety at Home

Recent years have shown that many people are giving more time and consideration towards protecting their home and their personal lives from being targeted by thieves and fraudsters. The age of the internet has meant that there are always new scams that are being devised in order to separate innocent people from their hard-earned cash and they are also becoming more advanced and difficult to spot. There are several ways that you can improve your security in everyday life and keep you protected from being targeted and scammed. The most important step to take is to invest in a residential paper shredding system to enable you to ensure that any personal information is protected by using paper shredding to get rid of old credit card bills and anything else that may contain your personal information. Residential paper shredding systems can be bought form a number of outlets and paper shredding is fast becoming more commonplace in everyday life. You should also take steps to protect yourself when coming into contact with sales people on the telephone.

Unfortunately inconvenient sales calls are a part of our normal life, and most are from genuine companies who are trying to sell you a product or service; however, there are some fraudsters who also use this tactic as a way of getting you to part with your personal information over the telephone. If you have a suspicion that someone you are talking to may be a fraudster trying to obtain your details then it is important to hang up the telephone as soon as possible and avoid giving them any further details. If you need clarification regarding the authenticity of a sales call it can help to use the internet to check whether it is a reputable company or not. You should get enough information first before doing any action.

The Hushed Willow - A Review

The Hushed Willow by Lorna Joy Knox nee Ramsamugh is a collection of poetry that will stir your emotions as you embark on a rollercoaster ride through life. As the title suggests the poetry contained in The Hushed Willow is that of emotions and feelings that are kept silent, feelings of sadness, loss, betrayal and hurt. The author has an exceptional gift of portraying such vivid emotions in such few words and is a joy to read. The words of her poetry flow together so gracefully with images from nature jumping up to meet you as you read.

This book takes us through the many adventures of life and recalls a multitude of emotions on its way. Lorna Knox is an extremely talented poet who endeavours to portray so much in so few words. Lorna uses modern free style poetry but maintains the constant rhythm necessary for great poetry.

Containing so many wonderful works of poetry it is quite difficult to choose a favourite or even favourites, however, one poem that really grabbed my attention was "Despair", this poem contains very powerful emotions especially those in the second verse as the poet describes love as a dream. I was also really taken by the poem "Magic", a short and uplifting collection of words where I found myself smiling as I reached the end. The last two lines of this poem really help to sum up this feeling - "To sit among a band, That will soothe me into never, never land."

At the end of this wonderful collection of poetry, Ms. Knox has concluded by giving us a taste of her other skills by including a short story titled "Bound in Friendship --- The Story of Two Friends". A remarkable story, well written that tests the boundaries of friendship in a light romantic story.

The Hushed Willow is a must for anyone with lust for poetry. There is a poem for everyone in this book, if you've lived at all you will definitely find a poem to relate to.

Lorna Joy Knox nee Ramsamugh is also the author of "Flames of a Rose" which can be purchased from all major bookstores including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Essential Ski Holiday Guide

Whether it be the powder filled Rocky Mountains, the picturesque resorts in the Alps, or a trip to the far north of Scandinavia, a ski holiday is a luxury enjoyed by an increasing number of Brits.

To make sure the trip goes without a hitch, follow the three top tips in this essential ski holiday guide.

Do Your Homework

Before booking a trip, make sure the resort is suited to your needs - and not just with regard to the accommodation or the selection of bars and restaurants!

The size and difficulty of ski areas varies widely. Beginners will want to avoid areas with many red and black runs - suitable only for intermediate and advanced skiers respectively - while blues and greens will present little challenge for those with serious slope skills.

Be aware that the classifications can vary between countries and take note of the guidance on the resort's website. They know what they're talking about if they say it's not ideal for beginners!

Pack Well

When it comes to packing for a winter holiday, the watchword is layers. Ideally people should have a base layer, a mid layer for extra warmth and an outer layer to protect against the elements.

Think about multi-purpose items of clothing, which are not only practical but help save space in the case, and items which are breathable and windproof. Up on the mountain, the weather can change at a moment's notice.

A pair of sturdy and waterproof boots are a must for walking around the resort. The majority of restaurants in ski hotspots are pretty casual, so don't worry about trying to find an evening outfit for freezing, blizzard conditions.

Buy Travel Insurance With Winter Sports Cover

No one wants to think about the worst happening, but its best to be covered if it does.

Research from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) shows 31 per cent of people believe a standard travel insurance policy will cover them if they're injured while skiing.

Sixty-two per cent think the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) will cover repatriation after an accident. Unfortunately, they're wrong on both of these points.

Comprehensive travel insurance with winter sports cover is the only thing that will cover you if you're injured on the slopes.

Without it, an injury could get seriously costly. One snowboarder who broke their leg in the US ended up having to pay £18,220 for emergency treatment and repatriation.

Before buying any travel insurance policy, read the details carefully and ensure it meets all your needs.

The Best of the Rest

A few final pointers before you head off to enjoy the snow:

Keep your EHIC card on you at all times in case there is an accident Note down key contact numbers for emergencies Don't head off piste alone - or without the correct level of experience Ski or board to your ability and in line with the conditions Learn the rules of the slope and don't assume the skill of other holidaymakers around you Check the temperature before heading out in the morning

The Mompreneurs Guide to Writing, Publishing and Managing an E-Newsletter

In 2012 where so many people are trying to get your attention, I'm still surprised at the number of Mompreneurs who either aren't publishing an e-newsletter or do so infrequently. I've heard a number of reasons why they don't publish one, here are a few...have you said any of these yourself?

I'm not ready I don't have a list My list isn't big enough I don't know what to write I don't have time I'm too busy with my blog

Sound familiar? Maybe you've something else but my point is, they're all excuses and not good ones at that. Here's some truth...if you have an online presence, either through your website or some other social media platform and you are building an in house list then you should be regularly publishing an e-newsletter.

I've shared what you should include in your newsletter and in case you missed it, sorry, you'll need to find it on my blog. In it I talked about some of the different sections you should include in your newsletter. Now,let's talk about what to actually write. There is a really big misconception that if you blog you also have to create totally fresh content for your e-newsletter and that prevents many Mompreneurs from starting and or maintaining one.

They get burned out! Ah...no kidding.

Check this out; if you look closely, you'll notice that my latest blog post is also the main article in my current e-newsletter. I can see some of you sitting there with your mouth open. Why would I do that and expect to be taken seriously?

Great question! Remember that some readers will NEVER go to your blog and some of your blog readers may NEVER read your newsletter. Here's something else, there are sections to my e-newsletter that NEVER appear on my blog and you can do the same.

Here are some fun sections you can add to your newsletter:

Product promotions Contents Client testimonials Student of the month Remember when? Birthday/Anniversary corner Photo of the week/month Coupons for newsletter subscribers only

Got you thinking now right? I'm sure you can come up with a dozen more.

Ready to Publish

I've been publishing my e-newsletter for more than a year now. It's gone through changes but it goes out consistently and since last April, it's gone out twice per week. Some people may barf at the idea of publishing so frequently but if some of the TOP marketers have studied the market, done the research and recommend that schedule then who am I to question it.

To be perfectly honest, when I receive a newsletter from someone who publishes once a month, I almost have to remind myself who this is. I've also seen people who publish sporadically...NOT at all professional.

Again, market research shows that the best times to publish and have your content read are Monday and Thursday morning before 7am EST. I don't ask why, I just do it. "But what about your open rate?", I wouldn't worry about it but here's a suggestion.

There are a number of services that you can us but hands down I recommend Aweber. Yes, there are free services but let's not be cheap. We're business owners and while we can cut corners with some things, when it comes to building and managing my list, I'm not cheap. Their service isn't expensive. It's a small investment that will deliver tremendous benefits.

Time to Outsource

If you've start consistently publishing great content one day you'll notice that you're just so busy. Clients are demanding your products and or services, your list is growing like gangbusters and you realize that you need help and you need it pronto. That's a great sign that you may need to outsource...by the way, that's a great thing.

You write your content and have your assistant edit, format and schedule publication. The work still gets done but you don't have to do it all, what fun! Now that you see how ridiculously simple the process is, ask yourself if you can afford not to start publishing your newsletter right now.

Surviving Search Engine Changes Through Adjusted Search Engine Marketing

With Google and other search engines coming up with endless changes in their ranking algorithms, search engine marketers are scrambling for the latest and the most innovative strategies. No longer can the marketers go by the yardstick in search engine marketing because the industry is now quite volatile and is susceptible to change. With this shift in the search strategy, it's time to look for something that can adapt to the dynamism of the cyberspace.

Infinite changes by Google and others

It's been more than a year since Google started having a serious stance against web spamming and low quality websites. Though Google has always worked towards improving the quality of search results, this time, it is not sparing anybody. Each year, Google brings up around 500 changes in its ranking algorithm. While most of these changes are minor, there are some major changes each year that change the way we market businesses on search engines. Besides Google, marketers need to focus on other search engines and the changes they introduce each month.

Paradigm shift in consumer behaviour

There has been a paradigm shift in the way customers make a choice. The numerous consumer behaviour studies have now failed as the customers become smarter and more discreet in their buying decisions. They follow a non-linear and unpredictable path. To hold their attention, businesses have to adopt a marketing strategy that immediately connects with the consumers. You have to immediately provide them information at their fingertips. Moreover, this change in consumer behaviour is also a cause of the innumerable changes being introduced by search engines because the search engines are keen to high light websites that value user experience. Some users are more inclined on clicking the paid ads, while others find organic search results more reliable. For a successful marketing strategy on search engines, it is important to segment your target marketing in terms of predictability of actions.

Cross-channel marketing

For maximum online consumption, search marketers must move beyond the PCs. Wide usage of laptops, smartphones and tablets have made it easy for consumers to access the desired information. For smart search marketers, adapting to different channels and devices is the best strategy. They must keep up with the changes and have different strategies prepared for different devices used by their target audience. Find keywords that fit within your sales funnel

Find keywords that fit within your sales funnel

With the help of analytics and behaviour study you can find out what is it that drives your business on the web. These insights help you find better keywords that enhance the search marketing efforts. Marketers should review the analytics to find out which keywords are underperforming and are not supporting their marketing campaign. These keywords should be replaced by those that promise greater search visibility and that fits within your sales funnel.

Thus, to survive in the volatile SEM industry, it is crucial to give up the standards and find out innovative, out-of-the-box strategies that can make search work for you. Also, keeping up to date with the ever-changing search algorithms and ranking factors will help you in formulating result-oriented marketing strategies that would yield the desired outcomes.

Review of the Zen Touch MP3 Player

When shopping for a digital music device, it is becomes clear that there are dozens of mp3 players to choose from. One of the most popular of these is the Zen Touch mp3 Player by Creative Labs. So what makes this mp3 player so popular among digital music enthusiasts? Well here are some things that people have agreed are the absolute strengths of the Zen Touch device:

1. Long battery life. The Zen Touch simply outlasts the competition - it has a much longer battery life than the popular Apple iPod.

2. The sound quality is really quite good. Most users rate the sound quality as the device's best attribute.

3. User friendly touch-pad. It is easy to use and the options are useful.

4. Has a nice, simply design that is durable. It's overall design won't set it apart, but it's simplicity makes it easy to handle, carry, and use.

5. Compatibility. It's compatible with a wide range of online music stores, and music formats (MP3, WMA, WAV).

6. Reasonable price. A comparable iPod device costs about $50 more at some retailers.

Now here are some brief negatives:

1. The battery can not be removed. This, however, depends upon which model you buy. The newest model (20 GB) - for some odd reason - does not have a removable battery.

2. LCD display could be better. There's a contrast problem between the black text and blue back lighting that may cause some problems in reading the display.

3. The new Touch Pad may be too sensitive.

The Zen Touch has some nice extra features that warrant some attention. For instance, the nice FM tuner and FM/voice recorder add-on (for an extra $50) is something that many mp3 devices have been lacking since their introduction. For many, the extra cost is probably worth it. Also, Creative's Zen Touch is capable of playing protected WMA, and WAV files - a feature not yet found on the Apple iPod and some other devices.

The Zen's menu options include Music Library, Now Playing, Play Mode, Settings, and Information. The Music Library provides a collection of songs arranged by playlist, album, artist, genre, and recordings. You can also choose to see all song files at once. And unlike the iPod, you can actually name these play lists.

Creative Lab's Zen Touch mp3 player is certainly a contender in the mp3 player market. It's new touch pad design will be seen by many as much needed improvement over previous Zen devices. Also, the sheer compatibility is sure to go a long way with users. Our overall evaluation: very good; a sure competitor.
